QR sprinklers reduce the Response Time Index by using a thinner glass bulb or fusible link, opening 3–5× faster than standard-response heads. NFPA 13 mandates QR throughout light hazard occupancies (hotels, hospitals, schools). EN 12845 increasingly requires QR in life-safety areas.
