Pendent sprinkler

Sprinkler head installed pointing downward, with the deflector below the orifice.

Definition

Pendent heads are the most common in commercial occupancies. Variants include standard pendent, recessed pendent, concealed pendent (with cover plate flush to the ceiling), and quick-response pendent (QR). Concealed and recessed types are mandatory in client-facing areas of hotels, retail and offices for aesthetics; thermal response curves are unchanged.
