Most remote area

Hydraulically least-favourable region of the system used for the design calculation.

Definition

The most remote area is the rectangular block (typically 1.2× width to length aspect ratio in NFPA 13) furthest in head-loss from the pump connection. Pump duty must satisfy density × area at this location. Re-evaluated after any layout change.
