Scope & application

How the EU Construction Products Regulation (CPR) and EN 12845 interact across member states.

• All sprinkler component types covered by hENs require CE mark for placement on the EU market.
• Free movement principle but national insurance/AHJ regimes still apply.

Certification path

1. Use CE-marked components with valid DoP (Declaration of Performance)
2. Design per EN 12845 (or national equivalent: PN-EN, BS EN, NEN-EN, ÖNORM EN, etc.)
3. Apply national overlay (LPC, VdS, APSAD, CCV, etc.)
4. Local AHJ acceptance

Notable rules

• CE alone does NOT satisfy national approval — most member states layer VdS, APSAD, LPCB, BOSEC, etc. on top.
• Brexit: UKCA mark required for GB (England/Wales/Scotland); CE accepted indefinitely under current government policy.
